The Summary Report of the Training Needs Analysis (1 MB)
In 2005-06 LORECA undertook a Training Needs Analysis with Refugee Community Organisations (RCOs), to determine the current training requirements of the refugee sector in London. LORECA published the findings in 2007, which will be of interest to RCOs, training bodies, and funders.

LORECA Stakeholders response to London Enriched: The Mayor’s Draft Strategy for Refugee Integration in London (October 2007) (396 KB)
This response focuses on chapter six of the strategy: Employment, training and enterprise. It incorporates submissions by LORECA's formal stakeholders (Advisory Pane), Reference group, and Meta-network) and wider stakeholders who participated in the London Enriched: Learning and Action for Refugee Employment, Training and Enterprise consultation event for London Enriched.

2nd Edition of the LORECA Employment, Training and Business Support Directory 2007-08 (8.75 MB)
This is a directory of over 730 agencies across London which provide services for refugees and asylum seekers in the areas of: employment, training, and business support. The directory can also be accessed online in the Directory section of this website, or a hard copy can be requested from Resource Information Service on 020 7939 0641. Please note that hard copies of the directory are only available to organisations.

External Evaluation of the LORECA Project (371 KB)
This report represents the external evaluation of the LORECA ESF project, undertaken by Zennor Consulting towards the end of the project funding period. It draws together the reflections and experiences of the different groups with an interest in the project and makes suggestions for the future.

LORECA Policy Briefing 3: London 2012: A Catalyst for Refugee Economic Activity (242 KB)
This briefing aims to explain why and how refugee communities should be involved in the 2012 Games, with a specific focus on employment, training, and enterprise opportunities, including challenges to participation. It provides an overview of the planning process and next steps, and information on key players and resources refugee communities should be aware of in order to actively influence the process.

This report includes a summary and recommendations from the conference held in March 2006. The Routes to Employment & Enterprise Conference focused on new strategic developments in London and the sharing of good practice around refugee employability.

Refugees and the London Economy: Maximising the Economic Potential & Impact of London's Refugee Communities (Published by Michael Bell Associates, March 2004) (1.02 MB)
This report examines the main economic development issues and barriers which prevent refugees and asylum seekers from fully participating and contributing to London's economy. The research was premised on the fact that London faces significant skills shortages and is also home to a substantial number of refugees, many of whom are underemployed or unemployed. The report was commissioned by the London Development Agency, in part to inform the creation of a Lead Body to champion the causes of Refugees and Asylum Seekers in London in terms of employment, training, and enterprise. The report was used by the London Skills Commission's Framework for Regional Employment and Skills Action subgroup on Refugees and Asyulum Seekers to develop a framework for LORECA.

This report was commissioned by the London Development Agency and the Government Office for London on behalf of the London Skills Commission, in order to explore the arrangements necessary to establish a Lead Body to champion the causes of Refugees and Asylum Seekers in London in terms of employment, training, and enterprise. Please note that this report offered recommendations only, some of which have been taken forward in the development of LORECA.
